Jigjiga (CakaaraNews) – Residents of Jijjiga town held a rally on Friday calling for leaders of the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) to be brought to justice.
In a rally they staged at Jigjiga town, the residents said that innocent people were massacred by ONLF at various times.
The demonstrators shouted such anti-ONLF slogans as: “ONLF is responsible for genocide in Ogaden region”, “ONLF leaders should be brought to justice.”
The residents were also holding placards, inscribed with various slogans against ONLF and demanding of countries to hand over leaders of the front.
Garad Mohammed Dol, representative of Somali clans, on the occasion said that ONLF leaders should be brought to justice as they have killed many children, youth and elderly people in 18 areas of the state during the past years.
ONLF’s anti-peace mission is impeding development and good governance activities in the state, he said, and called on the front to refrain from its destructive and destabilizing action.
Melun Yousuf Ibrahim, on her part requested countries to hand over senior leaders of the front who masterminded the attacks which killed innocent people in the state.
The demonstrators demanded sixteen ONLF officials, including front’s leader Mohammed Umer Usman, to be brought to justice.
