Water facilities begin service in Filtu Woreda

Negelle, July 28, 2010 (Negelle) - Some 14 potable water facilities
constructed in Filtu Woreda of Somali State at a cost over three million
Birr went operation, the woreda water resource development office said.
Office head, Mehammed Abubeker told CakaaraNews the facilities include
the digging of deep, hand dug water wells and development of a spring
and ponds.
He said the facilities benefited 48,000 residents and more than 100,000
animals. The numbers of water facilities has reached 35 in the woreda.
The water facilities raised the safe water coverage of the woreda to 56
percent from 14 percent, he said.
He said regional government and the public covered the construction of
the cost.
