Mass media urged to disseminate correct info on Urban Land Lease Holding Proclamation

Addis-Ababa(CakaaraNews).Minister of Urban Development and Construction, Mekuria Haile called on mass media to popularize the recently issued Urban Land Lease Holding Proclamation by providing clear and correct information to the public. The Minister was speaking on Friday at a workshop organized by the Ministry and Government Communication Affairs Office (GCAO) for media parishioners and communicators. He said mass media should provide the public with clear and correct information about the Proclamation. Media professionals should be familiar with the Proclamation to impart clear and correct information to the public, he said. Media personnel should present fair and balanced information to the public to avoid ambiguity on the Proclamation. Mekuria said discussions would help address ambiguity among the public on the Proclamation. The role of land resource is central in speeding up the ongoing development activities in the country, he said. The urban development policy would enable the nation to sustain the ongoing development. Participants who attended the discussion noted that the discussion has helped them clear the ambiguity they had on the Proclamation.
