Meles confers with Comorian President

Addis-Ababa(CakaaraNews).Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said Ethiopia is keen to establish diplomatic ties with countries with the same desire. After conferring with Comorian President, Ikililu Dhoinine on Tuesday, Meles said Ethiopia and Comoros have no strong bilateral relations so far. He said Ethiopia will take measures to strengthen its diplomatic ties with countries that it doesn’t have strong ties. Meles said Comoros is desirous to cooperate with Ethiopia in training and trade areas. There is similar desire with the Ethiopian side, he said, adding, efforts will be exerted to establish strong bilateral relations between the two countries. President Dhoinine on his part said his country is working to strengthen the bilateral relations with Ethiopia. He said Comoros is desirous to cooperate with Ethiopia in fishery, agriculture and other areas. Comoros wants its pilots and technicians to be trained by Ethiopian Airlines. The President's request to Ethiopia that Comorian citizens to be trained in Ethiopia with science fields is accepted by Prime Minister Meles, according to a high level official who attended the meeting. President Dhoinine arrived in Ethiopia to discuss ways for the opening of a Comorian Embassy in Addis Ababa.
